A Preliminary Ranking of Potential Chicago Bears Head Coaching Candidates

There are a lot of names to sift through, but I gave it a crack today.

Thomas Brown has begun preparing for the Chicago Bears’ Week 14 matchup with the San Francisco 49ers. He made it clear on Monday that he’s not interested in discussing anything beyond that. That’s fair. It’s good, actually. As for us, we’re already hyper-analyzing who the next head coach of the Chicago Bears should be.

The list of names linked to the job is already long (and I compiled those names earlier), but much of it is fueled by speculation and agent-speak via national media members. It’s a game, and we’re all playing it. But some of those names have the potential to be an excellent fit—most, not so much.

Sifting through all that will be tricky, but I will give it a whirl today with a (very) preliminary ranking of those names and why they would (or wouldn’t) be fit for the Bears in 2025 and beyond.
