Last week on the BN Bears Podcast, Luis, Matt, and I ran through another thought exercise — this time asking a different question than our previous simulation: what if a player projected to go much earlier somehow falls to Chicago at No. 25?

In this scenario, the simulator had Arizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson available when the Bears were on the clock. Our first instinct was simple: unless someone calls with an overwhelming offer, you take Tyson and figure out the rest.

We tested the trade-back waters with Miami, hoping they’d package a first or second rounder from the more talented 2027 draft class into a deal, but the Dolphins shut that down quickly. So we went best player available and took Tyson at 25. For what it’s worth, I don’t think Tyson will actually be there when the Bears go on the clock on Thursday in Pittsburgh with their first-round pick. Also worth noting is that Tyson’s recent Pro Day was impressive enough to quiet some of the concerns about his injury history that had kept him off certain boards. Still, in the simulator, we weren’t going to talk ourselves out of it.
