Kevin Byard wasn’t a member of the Chicago Bears for a long time, but it was a good time watching him play.
Byard, 32, signed a one-year deal with the New England Patriots earlier in the week. The move reunites Byard with Mike Vrabel, the Patriots' head coach, who had the safety when he was a Pro Bowler with the Tennessee Titans in 2021. As much as that is a feel-good anecdote, the move also means the Bears are moving on from a team captain and a productive member of their secondary.
