The Bears were in Tennessee on Thursday for their final joint practice of camp, and Caleb Williams and Co. got off to a hot start in Nashville.
According to CHGO’s Adam Hoge, Williams was 9-for-11 in the first team period on Thursday, completing six straight passes at one point, with his two incompletions being a drop and a throwaway. Eight of Williams’ nine completions in that period went to different Bears receivers.
After practice, Titans head coach Robert Saleh said that Williams is “a stud in every way.” Saleh called Williams a modern-day Russell Wilson. “When it got to the fourth quarter, you better be up three scores,” Saleh said of Wilson. “There is no lead safe with Caleb; he’s an unbelievable quarterback, he’s elite off schedule, he can do it all, and the amount of growth he’s had in the last year and a half is amazing.”
