Chicago Bears tight end Cole Kmet has gracefully taken on a new role in the year-plus since Colston Loveland was drafted. He’s no longer Chicago’s No. 1 tight end, as he was from 2020 until about mid-season last year, when Loveland’s breakout began.
But Kmet still fits this offense, where Bears Head Coach Ben Johnson strives for multiplicity and getting everyone involved. Quarterback Caleb Williams’ last touchdown pass last year went to Kmet, and on Sunday, his first passing touchdown of the season also landed in the veteran tight end’s hands.
