Bears vs. Patriots: Preview, Injury Report, Required Reading
We've got you covered on this weekend's Bears-Patriots matchup at Soldier Field.
Two weeks after Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears lost to Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders, they’re still searching for some semblance of their pre-bye week success on offense. Chicago’s offense has been as disjointed as it’s been all year since the bye, and their loss to the Arizona Cardinals last week was somehow more deflating than the loss to Washington.
The typical phrases and rhetoric of a season going down in flames have been in full force the last two weeks. Outside noise. Inside noise. Must-win game. Culture test. Team meetings. We’ve heard it all over a turbulent two weeks, but the fact is, outside noise comes from inside noise. The Bears’ struggles and the fact that their season is hanging by a thread isn’t some media-created narrative. It’s coming from the dysfunction on the field and in the building. It’s coming from the mouths of the Bears player leaders.
So, yeah, this week’s contest with the New England Patriots is a must-win game. As is next week’s game against the Green Bay Packers. And every game thereafter. The Bears’ fumbling away the last two games against Washington and Arizona removed any room for error they had down the stretch if they hope to play football in the playoffs.
