“Today, we had our first quiz as a QB room. And it’s not like a real quiz where you go up and write stuff. It’s just us. We went over a few things yesterday, talked about a few things, and Ben walked in this morning, flung open the door, made a grand entrance, and then we got to work with him testing us about what we talked about yesterday and things like that. Already, first day in, challenging us. Everybody loves a challenge in this sport. It’s one of the great things about this sport. Every day is a challenge and today we got our first one.”
As a reminder, the offseason’s first phase does not allow players to hit the field for practice or drills. However, this is an opportune time to install the scheme and terminology while providing a space for players and coaches to get to know each other. So a Day 1 quiz seems like it is right in the wheelhouse of the new head coach. As far as I’m concerned, a quiz counts as a football-adjacent activity. And we’ll take what we can at this point in the calendar year.
