HARD. FOUGHT. VICTORY.

What an unbelievably stressful end to an unbelievably stressful game at the end of an incredibly tight and stressful series. That Padres bullpen was EVERY BIT as good as advertised, and that was them being deployed in ultra-aggressive fashion. Today, especially, when Padres Manager Mike Shildt called for one of his top relievers, Jeremiah Estrada, with no outs in the SECOND INNING. And then called on his closer, Robert Suarez, in the sixth.

But like Game 1 at Wrigley Field, the Cubs’ bats did just enough, with PCA hitting the go-ahead run in the second, Dansby Swanson walking in a run shortly thereafter, and Michael Busch providing a little bit of insurance with a HUGE homer off Suarez late.
