Justin Steele was not necessarily at his best – inefficient and in some jams early – but his “not best” is still good enough to win if you’ve got a functional offense. Behind him, the bullpen was mostly exceptional once again. Yes, Hector Neris gave up the winning run in the 9th – his first run allowed in a month – but even he didn’t pitch TERRIBLY. It’s just that there is no margin for error with this offense.
