Mets Down the Cubs Despite Morel's Towering Blast

The Cubs return to Wrigley Field today for a huge series with the Milwaukee Brewers.

In a 7-6 victory over the Chicago Cubs, Francisco Lindor emerged as the hero for the New York Mets. Despite not starting due to illness, Lindor came off the bench to ignite a sixth-inning comeback with a two-run double.

He then delivered a game-ending two-run single in the 11th inning. The Cubs briefly took the lead in the top of the 11th, but Mets' right fielder Starling Marte's clutch throw to home plate prevented further damage.

Lindor's heroics capped off a remarkable comeback after the Mets trailed 4-0 and were no-hit through four innings by Cubs rookie Ben Brown.

Mets starter Adrian Houser struggled, giving up four runs, while Brown allowed two runs over four and two third innings. Danny Young earned the win in his Mets debut, allowing only an unearned run in the 11th inning.

Michael has more on the Cubs’ loss to the Mets in last night’s Enhanced Box Score.
