Cubs, Marlins Rained Out on Thursday
The two teams will play a split doubleheader on Saturday at Wrigley Field
Rain, rain, go away.
Unfortunately, it would not be on Thursday, leading to the postponement of the Cubs-Marlins series opener. What was supposed to be Jameson Taillon’s season debut will now be made up as part of a split doubleheader on Saturday. The first game will start at 1:20 PM CT, and the second game will start at 6:40 PM CT.
While rainouts stink, this could work in the Cubs’ favor for two reasons. First, they get an extra day off, which is welcomed after that nine-game West Coast trip that seemed to last three and a half weeks. The second is the extra roster space that they will have for that doubleheader tomorrow.
