And the Cubs reportedly share that desire. Patrick Mooney and Sahadev Sharma told us as much yesterday, and I can confirm that I have, myself, been told that they’re legitimately interested.

Unfortunately, I have also been told that the asking price on Gore is predictably astronomical (more on that below), which is something Jon Heyman seems to imply here when he says that those guys are “longshots” to move:
