Everything You Need to Know About Sunday's Bears-Packers Matchup

If there were a worse time for the Packers to be on the schedule, I’m having difficulty imagining it.

The Green Bay Packers have won 10 straight games against the Chicago Bears. What once was the NFL’s greatest rivalry has turned into a lopsided affair in recent years. Chicago is winless this decade against Green Bay, and Green Bay has won 37 of the 49 matchups this century.

Caleb Williams was supposed to save the Bears from this decades-long run of incompetence against the Packers. Aaron Rodgers proclaimed he owned the Bears a few years ago, and his 24-5 record against Chicago backed that up. But it was supposed to be different when Rodgers departed for New York and Caleb Williams was drafted in April.

Instead, Chicago enters its first meeting of the season with the Packers riding a three-game losing streak that has seen the offense score 27 total points, or nine points per game. Caleb Williams has looked like a rookie quarterback who is trending in the wrong direction. Meanwhile, the offensive coordinator has been fired, the head coach is probably next, and the defense has begun to show cracks in the armor.

How’s your Friday going?
