How About Seiya Suzuki’s Big Week?
I want to send some love Seiya Suzuki’s way after a monster week of baseball.
Although Kyle Tucker has understandably received a lot of the early attention, as well as the Cubs’ offense as a whole, I do want to send some love Seiya Suzuki’s way after a monster week of baseball.
The two games in Japan to open the season featured some particularly rough-looking Suzuki plate appearances, but hey, there was a lot of extra pressures, great pitchers, and a challenging ramp-up schedule. In the week-long road trip that opened the domestic slate, however, Suzuki raked: .344/.389/.781/216 wRC+, with 4 HR, 2 2B, 7 R, and 11 RBI. He was every bit a match for what Kyle Tucker was doing, and having the two bat next to each other only heightens the impact.
