The Blackhawks officially, formally introduced new head coach Jeff Blashill on Tuesday morning at the United Center. The presser aired live on the Blackhawks’ YouTube channel and CHSN. If you missed it, I have embedded the video at the bottom of this post.

First, a quick bit of housekeeping. Blashill confirmed that Anders Sorensen will indeed stay on his NHL staff and Michael Peca has already signed on to be one his assistants as well. Jimmy Waite will remain the goaltending coach. And there are a few loose ends they’re still tying up with a final assistant coach for his new staff.

Blackhawks captain Nick Foligno and Connor Murphy were in attendance to hear from their new head coach. With that being said, here are five things that stood out to me from sitting in the room watching/listening to the press conference this morning.
