NFL Draft: Colston Loveland, Bears Day 2 Fits, More (1)

The NFL Draft continues with Rounds 2-3 this evening, and I have some names to watch for Bears fans tonight.

Night one of the 2025 NFL Draft is in the books, but we’re not even close to being done here. Day 2 (Rounds 2-3) kicks off later this evening, and we’re going to spend some time this morning discussing some options for the Chicago Bears, who hold three selections today after selecting Michigan tight end Colston Loveland on Thursday evening in Green Bay.

Judging by social media, some Bears fans aren’t going to like hearing this, but the Bears were taking a best player available approach at No. 10 last night, and Colston Loveland was the best player available in that spot. I’ll have more on Loveland later this afternoon, but let’s focus on where the Bears could set their sights today.

The Chicago Bears own the 39th, 41st, and 72nd selections today. With Ben Johnson’s offense having secured Colston Loveland but missing out on Ashton Jeanty, who was selected sixth overall by the Raiders, Chicago will likely consider using one of these picks on a running back. Which one of those picks, and how they spend the other two, are the main questions to answer today.

Chicago could use help at edge rusher, left tackle, running back, and safety with their remaining selections (which includes three selections tomorrow).

There will be six selections made tonight before the Bears are back on the clock, and here’s how that’s slated to play out and their needs heading into Day 2:
