Playoff Bears?
One NFL insider seems to think so.
The Chicago Bears won’t kick off their regular season for another 73 days, but I am already dreaming about the postseason after reading what one NFL pundit believes the future has in store for this team.
Bucky Brooks, who played in the NFL from 1994-98 and is a long-time NFL Network analyst, puts the Bears among his five teams that won the offseason. The Bears winning the offseason is old hat around here. Don’t get me wrong. I like what the Bears have done to surround quarterback Caleb Williams with better talent and coaching, but I have been around for way too many “winning” offseasons that churned out losing seasons when games began to matter in the standings.
What stands out in the latest from Brooks is that he shares his belief that the front office’s hard work has positioned the squad to make a push to the postseason, adding that the team should be viewed as “a dark-horse contender” this season.
