Every year, Brett spends the better part of two days on a sleepless watch of the MLB trade deadline, locally and otherwise. This year is no exception, although it is exceptional.

As Michael wrote on Tuesday, Brett was honored by the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois, receiving the 2025 Volunteer Fundraiser Award!

For 14 years(!), Brett has been hosting his annual blogathon, and according to the foundation, he has raised over $200,000 in that time. This year, he’s already surpassed this $10K goal, but there is still time to give and push that total even higher. So please do consider donating if you haven’t already.
