State of the Blackhawks
Kyle Davidson talks state of the rebuild, helping Bedard, next contracts, and more.
The Blackhawks were quiet on the first day of NHL free agency. But we should have known that; they’ve been telling us to not expect a flurry of moves like last year since the team’s exit interviews in April.
The only thing the organization did was trading a late-round pick to Buffalo to bring back forward Sam Lafferty. Yup, a depth piece. When many fans will happily, readily complain that the roster has too many “depth pieces” already.

GMKD said they were still looking to bolster the depth of the organization in a few areas, and specifically said they’re working through the goaltending situation with hopes of getting an extension done with RFA Arvid Söderblom.
